I set the OOo print command to "kprinter" and let KDE print manager
handle things. works very well for me with a Kyocera-Mita FS1000 and
an Epson Stylus Photo 830.


I used spadmin to create a new printer and entered "kprinter" as the print command,
then set the new printer as default.
Works like a charm in OO-1.03 and OO- 1.1 rc2.
