Posted this to the list yesterday but it still hasn't hit the list. and as said below, having a hell of a time accessing the archives. so here it is again, hope someone can help (and hope it makes it to the list this time).
sorry to put this to the list w/out searching the archives first, but i'm having trouble searching the archives. most of the time when i try to access it i get a timeout and can't get in. anyway.... bought a basic logitech optical scroll mouse. PS2 connection, not serial or USB. problem is i can't figure out how (and where) to make the changes so the up/down on the scroll wheel act as the 4th and 5th buttons. i've found a few psaux icons while searching through the system, but every time i try to access one it tells me it's an unknown file or it says it's empty or something similar. i had googled for information on it and after searching through almost 30 pages i found some incomplete answers. there was mention about the "sketchiness" of the mouse too, and it is jumpy occasionally. what i found said there is a fix for that also, but i can't find where and what i need to change or modify. anyone able to lend some knowledge to this? the scrolling does work in ms-win, and in mdk i can push the scroll wheel and it acts like the 3rd button, so i know the mouse is fully functional. thanks in advance.
