Heres a small edumacation in M$hit: They contracted a company (Executive software) to make them a defrag utility. This company is hte best in the business. Every other defragger M$ made sucked dead donkey tit. Problem: They didn't want the defragger to have teeth...so XPs sucks. Still. I have DiskKeeper (E.S.'s proprietary but very very good defragger they sell for $50/USD). It will defrag anything & keep it that way. Guaranteed. If you want it, let me know offlist. I will tell you now, using the M$ installed one cannot damage stuff as past defraggers will but it has very little effect either IMO. Shrugs so goes the way with proprietary software. Let me know Kaj! I'm rooting for you... Oh & btw, those rescue disks suck. The problem is of course, if you want support they will only support you if you use those. YOU can wipe & reinstall XP By hand... But they won't guarantee your warranty at that point software wise. :( Femme
