What interests me foremost is that it is Gentoo. I have 
heard enough about Gentoo that I'd like to try it out know. 
With over two years Linux experience, I may be able to cope 
with the initial setup. 

Now, I am watching how this Gentoo fork is getting on (no 
release as yet). I was interested by the fact that Gentoo 
seem to lack of democracy and openness.

The fork may have the technical advantages of Gentoo while 
having the Open, Democratic feel of Community project like 
Debian has.

I am not in a hurry to make a decision and there's no 
guarantee that the new distro will get off the ground. So, 
I am with Mandrake for still many months to come.
