Check your sources, mate! My own wife version required ./configure, manually finding dependencies and installing and then about 15 make commands to get installed. Still trying to get the configuration worked out but usually, if it stays stable, I don't like to mess with it too much.... > or is it only availble as tar.gz ? > > any other options There are probably tons. In KDE, if that is what you are using is KAlarm, prints text, opens a file, plays a sound, can require confirmation or acknowledgment, and has unlimited options for repetitions. Korganizer of course. Gnome-cal is a gnome version of calendar Ktimer is a task scheduler Look under Office, Time Management on the Mandrake menu. Also, you could simply write a bash script to play a song, print a message, etc and then setup a cron job to run it for you. I assume that this is a non-computer task or I would suggest automating it with a script, if only I could do that with Real World stuff, I would be a rich man. Personally, I prefer the wife application except the reminders are kind of jarring (frying pan to the head) but you certainly can't ignore them. ;-) -- Bryan Phinney Software Test Engineer
