Hmm.. that's strange. I don't know about the PPC kernel, but I suppose it has the same functionality as the i386 one. My card is exactly the same as yours, and I remember having some issues with it during installation : on MDK 9.0 one had to choose the old XFree86 3.6 to get it working. On MDK 9.1 one can use XFree86 4.x, but only without graphics acceleration, which I don't care for anyhow. The actual driver is called something like [UTAH]. Works great.
