Hi I've been using Mandrake for quite a while, and recently upgraded to 6.1
While I was adding some RPM's that didn't go in from the CD during my install,
I've noticed something odd has started happening
Kbiff, Kmail (actually all of the internet programs) don't seem to want to use
pppd if I connect to the internet after I've started the program.
What I mean is...I usually leave KBiff running in my in tray..when I connect to
the internet, what used to happen was when Kbiff did it's usual poll, it would
see it could connect to my POP3 mailbox and just do what it's supposed to.
Now..even when I force it to check, it dosn't seem to do anything (and I can't
see any network traffic happening during the checks).
If I start a new copy of KBiff...it works like a dream

I've checked KPP and theres nothign weird there in teh setup (changed all the
options and checked just in case). Looked at /etc/ppp/conf and removed the lock
option. Deleated and Reinstalled the kdenetwork RPM.
I'm basically out of ideas
anybody got any suggestions on where else I could look?
