Hmmm
Well, on most monitors there are horizontal centering controls, vertical
centering controls, and horizontal width and vertical height controls as
well as brightness and contrast. In addition to those, there are often
rotation, pincushion, and trapezoidal adjustments available unless you
happen to be using a notebook.
You might try those.
BTW, my horizontal width control is no help when I translate your HTML
to plain text and find it 11 monitors wide. Please, as a courtesy to
those who don't have HTML capable mailers, turn it off. Send to the
list in plain text.
/etc/X11/XF86Config is where you can edit the modeline that xvidtune is
adjusting, but without being able to log in as root, you will be unable
to save changes there too.
