Have you tried pdf2ps ?

Well, I've got a /usr/bin/pdf2ps ,
but it's not a graphical app, least I don't think so,
Guess someone will have to coach me on how to use it on the CL ?

John

IIRC, it's simply a matter of change to the correct directory, then pdf2ps filname

Anne

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# cd /root/Desktop
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# ls
221915gw.pdf
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# pdf2ps 221915gw.pdf
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# ls
221915gw.pdf 221915gw.ps

So that worked, OK,

Now what is the best way to send that to the printer ?

A right mouse click on 221915gw.ps down to ! produced this warning.
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The desktop entry file
/usr/share/apps/konqueror/servicemenus/convertpstopdf.desktop
has an invalid menu entry
convertpstopdf.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Click OK, message goes, I continue down to ,

KGhostview, which displays it , but when I select print , same old refusal.

The above suggests the conversion failed, but ?

Maybe not,

[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]# lp 221915gw.ps
request id is Z53c-97 (1 file(s))
[EMAIL PROTECTED] Desktop]#

Something is coming off the printer, see image file attatched. Yes, it prints fairish quality, even though Z53c is my best driver. I have 4 to choose from. I guess something is lost maybe in all this conversion.

I think my next best course of action is to get the Acrobat tar ball installed.

John
