Merlin: Short story: I built a new system in late May -- Asus A7V8X-X, AMD XP2500+, NVidia card, more and better RAM. 9.0 was not happy. Luckily, my 9.1 CD's showed up. I did a full Install, but I told the installer to keep the old /home. After some minor tweaking, it ran like a champ. Conclusion: If you're running the hardware that postdates 9.0, upgrading _could_ be the answer. Or not. -- cmg
