Ladies and Gents, Previously on the list, I was forwarded to a Novell Groupwise Client. I am not so sure thats what I need. All I need is a good Linux client to connect to my exchange server to synch up calendar, contacts.
Evolution has an add-on to connect to an Exchange server. Not free, though.
I have a copy of that. You have to run it at the server level, IIRC. It does not really allow a client to connect directly to Exchange, acts more like an interface between Evolution and the Exchange Server. It also requires permissions, again IIRC, so you would have to have administrator approval before being able to run it.
Otherwise, I would be.
I haven't used it, so you may be right. My reading of the blurb about it on the Ximian site, though, is that it works using Outlook Web Access. If your Exchange is already set up for that, then the Evolution connector *should* work without further server configuration. But as I said, I never used it, so I very well could be misinterpreting what they are saying. I think they have a free trial period, so if I get motivated enough, I'll download it and see if I can get it to work, since my employer does have OWA already set up.
