(First of all, he lives in Canada, a country remarkable for its deficiency of Republicans. OTOH, they have a party with the peculiar name of Progressive Conservative. Parse that one.) However, there have been several political flamewars in the past on this list, and one of them got way out of hand. It didn't take too long before a number of users objected. Eventually, calmer heads prevailed, and an OT list was established for that kind of stuff. (Sorry, I don't have the link, but I'm sure that someone will provide it.)
