You got that mesage because you tried to execute the file. All you had to do was cd /etc (to change directory) ls pt* (to list all files beginning with pt) rm ptmp (To remove ptmp) But why not just do it all in a GUI? From your KMenu>Applications>FileTools>FileManager(SuperUserMode) Find the file you want to delete. Right click and select Delete.
