Edit...
/usr/lib/python2.3/site-packages/BitTorrent/download.py
and change....
defaults = [
('max_uploads', None, 2,
....^ this was a 4....
.....and limit upload.....
('max_upload_rate', None, 6,
'maximum kB/s to upload at, 0 means no limit'),
I used 6 since my normal connection upload is only 12 to 13kB/s.
So use 50% of your upstream speed. Maybe even less if you need to
retain more upstream for your own use. I also limited max_uploads
since I can only provide 6kB/s upload. If you can spare more than 10
or 12kB/s, then I'd leave it on the default 4. The changes will be
effective after you re-start BT. I'm usin the GUI, just clicking on
the mytorrent-<userID>.torrent file in a file manager restarts BT.
For the weekend you could just leave your BT unlimited.
If you don't know your upstream speed, test here
http://www.broadbandreports.com/stest
Up speed will be in kilobits, divide by 8 to get kBytes/s.
