Ok i think i have foung the problem, i can ping each computer by ip
address but not by hostname. I am sure i have set the workgroup name
the same on both computers. Any ideas ? The win98 computer has
netbuei, ipx/spx with netbios support, client for microsoft networks,
tcp/ip for the internet conection and file and printer sharing. I have
tryed webmin and the samba drakwizzard and done all this without
firewalls running but still seem to be having a problem, i have also
googled and checked out the site mentiond in this thread.
Any help apreaciated. I did send my smb.conf in an earlyer post to this
thread.
