Sure Dennis, but I'll need your hardware info, and the CDrom's
firmware version would be helpful too. If you'll notice, most all
the models listed as 'fried', are in ready mades, eg, Compaq, HP,
Dell. Most all the ones that 'work', are in home or shop built
systems (judging by the motherboard reported). Some have reported
on cooker that models previously reported as 'fried', don't fail if
the firmware was upgraded first. Unfortunately tryin to flash the
drive post mortem won't salvage it.
