If I'm not mistaken, ICQ only keeps a list of your buddies numbers so that when you connect it will let you know which of your friends is online. But all your messages and files you've transferred etc are stored locally on your own machine. In the windoze version of ICQ it's stored in C:/Program Files/ICQ/2003a/xxxxxxx.dat [where xxxxxxx is your ICQ number]. Mine is about 13M, which is why I want to retain access to it. It's useful to be able to look up phone numbers or addresses you've been given years before :) Plus, when you get a new buddy, they always start by asking the same questions - it's handy to be able to just send them files you've previously sent to others... I'm looking for a way to import that database file into LICQ, or some other ICQ-type program for Mandrake 9.0. -- Merlin Zener Piano, Synthesizer Thailand. registered Linux user number 328618
