I can't make my hostname stick at localhost, my IP is dynamic. I've edited various files (see below) and thought I'd solved it but then I rebooted and it changed back to "public1-derb2-3-........" The edited files :-
/etc/sysconfig/ network HOSTNAME=localhost NETWORKING=yes /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0 DEVICE=eth0 BOOTPROTO=dhcp NETMASK=255.255.255.0 ONBOOT=yes MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=yes NEEDHOSTNAME=no and etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 localhost
