Hmm, I'm still getting errors. Actually I'm getting
more now =P  ... Here's an output:

$ sh cheker README.mirrors
Testing tr: invalid option -- n
Try `tr --help' for more information.
cheker: line 92: unexpected EOF while looking for
matching ``'
cheker: line 105: syntax error: unexpected end of file

BTW, you probably already assumed, but I am running
Mandrake 9.1. Since it's running fine on your 9.2
install, I wonder what the difference between the two
versions could be... Looks like the orginal script
came from 1997 so I wouldn't think this problem is
caused because my version is older then yours...
Could I perhaps be ommiting a simple detail to runing
the file? You just add the mirrors to README.mirros
and run sh <script_name> README.mirrors, right? Let's
keep pluggin away at this. Once we get it working,
I'll put it up on TWiki in the area Anne suggested....
