    True, but the change should not be at the beginning of the 
subject line. IE, all threads to newbie begin with "Re: 
[newbie]". So if a change is needed it should be somethin like 
'Re:[newbie] Apples (was Oranges)'  and _not_
'Apples (was Re:[newbie] Oranges)'

   For most mail clients, changing the beginning of the subject 
line will screw up threading (sorting) worse than hijacking will.
