IMO, you are much better off in Linux by skipping the so called Hardware 
ATA-RAID solutions, since support is shoddy to non-existent, and using the 
built in software RAID available in the kernel using a straight ATA 
controller.  I use a Promise Ultra 133TX2 to RAID1 2-40GB drives and the 
performance is excellent and I feel much more secure since I don't ave to 
rely on spotty support from the manufacturer.
