None of the preview links at that WGBH link you posted seem to work for me either. I tried with mozilla, firebird, konqueror, galeon and opera. The mplayer plug-in works for all of the browsers at http://www.apple.com/trailers/ for example, this one http://www.apple.com/trailers/wb/matrix_revolutions.html I'm not sure why the PBS station's links aren't downloading the preview or the full episodes, I tried the recent show about string theory. No joy. The mplayer version I used was the standard 9.2 plf version, so was the plug-in. They work fine for me.
