The open source driver is in 9.2. The latest is on the NVidia site as a .run file. You just down load it and then go into a non-xwindow console and type "sh NVidia-Linux*.run" and it should load. Then check the xf86config-4 file in /etc/x11 and make sure there is a line in the group of "load blahblah" that says " load glx" and farther down it should have a line that says "driver nvidia" instead of "driver nv". Save and restart your comp in init5 and you should be good to go. Mandrake should have configured your monitor from the install. If you want to check it, put the Ist CD in and let it run through without picking any additional packages. At the last screen it will show a list, one of which should be something like monitor or XF86config, I can't remember. But if you click on the active button next to it it will go into a setup mode and you can select the exact model if it is listed. HTH -- Dennis M. linux user #180842
