Under this scenario how would I call different window > managers? First off, in Mandrake Control Center, under Boot, uncheck "launch graphical environment when machine starts". As far as command line switches for startx, there are none that I know of that will let you specify an XF86Config-4 file to use, however, you can use "XStart", which will give you a choice of desktops/window managers to start.
