I am the author of the site you found.
It sounds as if you are very nearly there. If you have a signal level then the
wireless system seems to be working. Your problem is likely to be setting up
your default routes or the nameserver.

Could you post the contents of the following files please?

/etc/resolv.conf
/etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-wlan0
/etc/sysconfig/network

The 'service network restart' I mention on my site is a command to restart
networking. To use it open a terminal window and enter 'su' to become root
user.

The 'Broadcast' address is a reserved IP number which all devices on a Lan
listen to. By default it is the highest address in the subnet. In your case
it will be 192.168.168.255
