Okay...

When I wrote my original post, I never mentioned that I had used Printtool
to setup my printer. It is one of the first things I do after I get
Linux-Mandrake 6.1 installed. Printtool detects my printer port at lp0, but
any print filters that I choose won't work. I have the Epson Stylus 740 and
the print filters that appear to match my printer the best are the Epson
Stylus 800/ESP?? and another filter that should work for any Epson Stylus
Color Printer. At best, I was able to successfully print all of the test
pages from inside of Printtool, but right afterward I went into "Text
Editor" and Star Office and found that I could not print anything. I know
that Star Office has it's own printer list, but I should still be able to
print from inside of the "Text Editor." Anyway, I then went back to
Printtool and tried to do some more test pages there, but it no longer
worked either. I did not make any changes to hardware settings or install
any new hardware, so I am still at a loss as to what the problem is. I am
not familiar with updating my print filters or know if that is even
possible. If someone can give me some other advice, it would be greatly
appreciated.

Thanks for your time
