Thanks Dennis, Anne,

I found this post in the mandrake cooker archive:

http://archives.mandrakelinux.com/cooker/2002-07/msg02304.php

I tried running /usr/share/harddrake/service_harddrake

and got the following:

[EMAIL PROTECTED] terryg]# /usr/share/harddrake/service_harddrake
File is not a perl storable at ../../lib/Storable.pm (autosplit into
../../lib/auto/Storable/_retrieve.al) line 323, at
/usr/share/harddrake/service_harddrake line 24
[EMAIL PROTECTED] terryg]#

I looked at line 24 and it didn't mean anything to me, but the looks
from the output below that I perhaps have a configuration problem.
Service_harddrake is not finding the files it needs where they are
suppose to be. Am I seeing this wrong?

[EMAIL PROTECTED] terryg]# find / -name 'Storable.pm'
find: /mnt/floppy: Input/output error
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/Storable.pm
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/Memoize/Storable.pm

[EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# find / -name ?retrieve.al
find: /mnt/floppy: Input/output error
/usr/lib/perl5/5.8.0/i386-linux-thread-multi/auto/Storable/_retrieve.al

Can someone break this down for me?

Thanks again,

Terry

p.s. I don't remember the switch that tells the find command not to look
at removable media a.k.a. find: /mnt/floppy: Input/output error
