It seems that a text layer is created automagically, when using dynamic test, 
or that is how I use it.

On the other system, the ordinary "T" you bring up your graphic. Then you 
bring up a new layer on the new layer icon on the left of the layers, 
channels and paths.

Then select the font button "T"
Then the colour chart click on a colour that you want.
Then click on the graphic and type in what you need in the way of dialogue. 
Move it to where you want to have it placed.
Then click the Anchor icon in the layers and there you have it. 
Done.
