Run make as regular user. Run checkinstall as root. No need for arguments, you'll be prompted for info through the build process. It's a good idea to use checkinstall to easily remove packages, and of course to share them with your friends! Please put up a link to a screen cap of the new UI, I've never seen it! Todd
