I've been using it for a while with a script that basically says
- update virus definitions
- mount Windows shares
- cleanup
running as a cron job. It won't catch incoming viruses, but works nicely as a daily crap-cleaner. I didn't have it running for a week, and it caught a dozen infected files on a Windows box when I turned it on again.
