Here's the scoop:
I'd like to upgrade my kernel from 2.4.22 to 2.6.1. My machine is an i686(I
don't know what that means, so if someone would care to explain), and I have
a little over 10 GB in my whole Linux partition(4 for root, 5 for main, 1 for
swap). I have a habit of completely screwing up my system, so step-by-step
instructions would be greatly appreciated. If you're asking why I need to
upgrade my kernel, it's because I believe that 2.6.1 has built in acpi
support(correct me if I'm wrong). I've been googling on it for a while, but I
can never find clear instructions on exactly what I need to do.

Help would be nice =)
Marc
