Derek, I've had a look at your website and I can see you've had quite a lot of experience installing wireless. Many thanks for the suggestions, I will try them and let you know how I get on. If it helps, I've found a link to the product http://www.cnetusa.com/product/specs/wl_cnusb611(g).htm It makes no refrence to linux, but I can assure it carries both RedHat and Mandrake drivers. I checked before I bought the product.
