Just turn off the computer, then plug the card reader into a USB connector with the memory card in the reader then start the computer. You will probably get a message on startup telling you that new hardware was detected and asking if you want to configure for it. Just ignore the message and let the machine finish starting up. You should find a new icon on the desktop for the new card reader if all went well. Mandrake 9.0, 9.1 0r 9.2 seems to take care of everything automatically. Marc KM5KW
