Alex: Your modem is a winmodem. In case you are not familiar with the term, it is a modem which is designed to work with Windows only. Don't despair, though, as there are often workarounds available. However, it is going to take some work on your part to get that critter working. My advice would be to start at: www:linmodems.org.
