A lot more promising with xine but I still get no bbc. I don't seem to have an so that I need - further ideas anyone?

I tried a few variants of that URL with mplayer. It just stops as soon as it tries to connect. I don't see anything in the mplayer output that tells me invalid file format, so my next best guess is that maybe there's a problem connecting with the server. So, next best thing to try is another player with that url - xine here - and I'm getting from bbcr1 now.
