Hello,
I downloaded the tar file of Firefox and I followed Robin's instructions to install it from a terminal...
I don't know how but the software installed itself in my temp folder... I was not able to use the tar -zxvf command... Is it the right place or shall I move it some where else?

You probably downloaded the tar-file into your temp-directory. Tarring -x there will create a firefox subdirectory in temp.

If you have decided where you want the installation to go, cd to there

for instance cd /usr/local/

and then do a tar -xvfz ~/temp/firefox...

Note: to install in /usr/local/, you should be root, so use the 'su' command first.

Afterwards you can remove the firefox directory from your temp-dir.
