Back in the dotcom boom years, I saw a documentary about the young people running them. There was a company doing something like visualisation software, which consisted of two geeks. One of them explained how they'd approach venture capitalists: "He goes in wearing a suit and presents the business plan, then I go in in jeans and a T-shirt and talk about the technical stuff. No one would trust a techie in a suit."
