First: Disclaimer: I'm no expert here, I just set up my firewall as well. Try this link below it got me started: http://www.shorewall.net/ On the introduction page, scroll down to "Getting started with Shorewall" Look for a link to a Quick Start Guide HOWTO. Under this link you will find some 'quickie' setup files. I had a standalone machine, so I downloaded the one-interface.tgz file to a temp directory. You can edit the interfaces file as root and it will show you some examples of a 'typical' 'rule' to describe your connnection. >From a terminal as root: <urprompt>shorewall stop (provided shorewall is running) Then copy the files to your /etc/shorewall folder. <urprompt>%shorewall restart Shorewall will restart and read the config files you just copied.
