Hoyt, the updatedb process updates the slocate database with all of the files that are on the system. However, that usually only runs once per night so if the file has been removed and updatedb has not run yet, slocate will show an improper location for a file that is not there. Run updatedb as root from CLI and then do a locate kmail and you might find that it is not on your system. -- Bryan Phinney Software Test Engineer
