Well, I do not know the answer... but generally spoken:
root has the permission to the whole system.

okay, a guess...
what probably happend is that you have run your system in paranoid mode and executing binary files without ownership of root is forbidden. however, let me say one thing...
the principle of security is based on permission... and best security is, when the user is only and only allowed to execute what he is allowed to... my suggestion to you is:
configure your system in a way that you have as a user access to your program but do not execute it as root.


you can see the ownership if you do "ls -la" on your directory in a terminal.
