Okay, so I got the sound worked out with this cheapo MoBo.

Now to the video. It's got an onboard Trident CyberBlade, which, according to
the accompanying manual, supports "64-bit 2D/3D Video Acceleration with
advanced DVD video". Uh huh. Whatever that means.

Unfortunately, when I play vids, like DivX movies, it will only work with -vo
x11, no full screen video. What this also seems to mean is that I cannot use my
beloved 'mencvcd' script to convert DivX to VCD, since it uses mplayer and needs
hardware acceleration, 'twould seem.

IIRC, what I'm looking for is to enable 'DRI', no?

This is my current XF86Config-4 (relevant portions):

Section "Device"
    Identifier "device1"
    VendorName "Trident Microsystems"
    BoardName "Trident CyberBlade (generic)"
    Driver "trident"
    Option "DPMS"
EndSection

Section "DRI"
        Mode 0666
EndSection

That last part I added myself, after doing some Googling on this subject, but it
made no difference in video playback.

Some output from mplayer that may be a clue:

vo: X11 running at 1280x960 with depth 24 and 32 bpp (":0.0" => local display)
Disabling DPMS

That 'Disabling DPMS' looks suspicious...

Any help getting all I can out of this MoBo *greatly* appreciated. I'm hoping
this is not going to involve a kernel recompile :-\
