Not a dumb question at all. Sometimes the simplest oversights cause the biggest problems. Yes, I've checked all of those things in kmix. No mute. High volume. All levels active. As well, it's not on the hardware end, as everything blasts when I pop in the MandrakeMove CD. I'm wondering if this is a conflict with the support of ALSA drivers in the 2.6 kernal, given that my card's recommended driver is the OSS driver. I've tried the alternate ALSA driver with no luck, though.
