thanks, I got it working in some way.

Anyway, the kernel log did not complain about the driver. I am not sure in my case it is a problem with the driver, but rather with the startup scripts which do not create the correct device /dev/dsp. I fact, if I created it manually, the driver worked fine.

As I said elsewhere, I'm still confused...
