The mount point has to exist as a folder. So if the folder /mnt/cdrom does not exist you must create it before the cdrom will mount. Magicdev starts when you log in, so you might have to log out and back in again before it will start ps aux | grep magicdev will confirm it is running. > I checked the > lilo file and did not see any reference to ide-scsi. Also how are you checking if the drive will mount? With magicdev there is no need to mount the CD. Just open konqueror and browse to the mount point. And finally.
