Hi Brian,
try: postalias /etc/postfix/aliases
I thought just using: "newaliases" (sans quotes) did the same thing.. but I know that postalias works fine.
I have no idea why its looking in mailman for the alias file though.. check in /etc/postfix/main.cf for alias_maps and/or alias_database and see just where postfix is setup to store its database.
regards
Franki

I have a newly installed 10.0 official system with postfix installed. When attempting to send e-mail to it locally, the smtp request hangs
indefinitely and I see:
postfix/smtpd[5135]: fatal: open database /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases.db: No such file or directory
in /var/log/mail/errors
I presume that the command to build this file is:
newaliases.postfix -I
but that doesn't create the file. Tried to use webmin to do this, but it fails with:
Failed to save options : Failed to regenerate table /var/lib/mailman/data/aliases: 256
That's not a useful message for me - anyone?
TIA Brian
