Most all Lucent chips can be configured to work--I haven't found one that 
doesn't, but they may exist.  Follow the link from http://www.linmodems.org 
to the "scanModem tool", which you can download and install to see if you 
might have a supported chipset.  If it finds the chip, it will tell you which 
driver you need. 

To change the hostname (the graphic way), open Mandrake Control Center 
(Start>Configuration>ConfigureYourComputer), type the root password, >Network 
& Internet>DrakConnect and click the box to "Configure Hostname".  Don't 
forget that the "DNS Server" line should have the IP of your ISP's server.
