True, URPMI isn't very good at handling multiple mirrors of the same information, but 
as long as you have a good reliable mirror (mirrors.secsup.org is my personal favorite 
from Idaho) it works real well.

I would suggest trying urpmi --wget. Wget is much better at "retries" then curl is.

Otherwise, I've had no problems with urpmi not being able to find a package. If worse 
comes to worse you can simply download the RPM and then type urpmi <location of RPM>, 
and it will install it and still try to handle any dependencies from your mirrors.

You can always try apt-RPM or YUM (yellow-dog update manager) if URPMI irritiates you 
too much. I really like YUM for my non-mandrake RPM-based systems. I think SuSE has 
GPL'd YaST as well.
