Shot in the dark here as it's a long time since I was on dial up but  I needed 
to use 1470 with BT Internet . I needed to put 2 commas between 1470 and the  
rest of number so it dialled 1470,,0845 xxxx  the ,, creates a pause (IIRC 
each comma is 1 second)
