That (to me) seems like such an oxymoron, no one but a moron (or someone giving a demostration of how morons act) would 'knowingly' use a M$ product.
Actually et; The word you're looking for is probably "dichotomy", not oxymoron. For Example, here's a list of oxymorons from where else? Oxymoron dot com in reverse order I was too lazy to Cut and Paste each one separately.
I personally like example No.1.
20. Government Organization 19. Alone Together 18. Personal Computer 17. Silent Scream 16. Living Dead 15. Same Difference 14. Taped Live 13. Plastic Glasses 12. Tight Slacks 11. Peace Force 10. Pretty Ugly 9. Head Butt 8. Working Vacation 7. Tax Return 6. Virtual Reality 5. Dodge Ram 4. Work Party 3. Jumbo Shrimp 2. Healthy Tan 1. Microsoft Works
Of course, they forgot my two other favourites;
1) Central Intelligence Agency, and, 2) Trust us, we're from the government, we're here to help!
I'm fairly sure that Lyvim was simply expressing his annoyance at the depth to which Microsoft has deluded the general public. I have to say that I agree with him on that fact! It just proves that you don't have to build a great product to be No. 1, You just good at building in such a way that all the "morons" will buy it!
Looks like Microsoft got it right the first time, which is a total shame, since their products really DO suck more often than not! It never ceases to amaze me at what the public will buy into if the marketing is done properly! The really funny thing is that their installation tools work flawlessly, while the stuff you're installing blows chunks! Huh! Go Figure!
Fortunately, I've found quite a few free applications which replace Microsoft's products, whether they're made for Windows or for Linux, and I regularly install those for my clients as well as for my own use. There's just something about using someone else's brand of software to access Microsoft services that gives me a warm-fuzzy feeling! Especially when they're not loaded with adware and spyware!
Speaking of free, has anyone else been to http://theopencd.sunsite.dk ? Or am I the only one who knows about it? Nice ISO file with an easy to use install GUI for anyone trying to get Windows users to switch to Free software.
Nuff Said!
