here's a shot in the dark, run Aumix, and look under the collum labeled Rec. if the 
input source is green then it is turned OFF as a recording source, if it is red, then 
it is toggled on, you can click on the button to toggle it on/off .... I ran into this 
same problem as well, but with video capture, anyway, i had learned after a week of 
digging around :)
